The evening started off with a delightful Sunday afternoon meal at a beautiful Mediterranean restaurant for a friends birthday. Immediately, I was taken aback by the warmth of the venue, and the hospitality of the staff. The softly lit restaurant added to the ambience of a peaceful summers eve.
The owner, Sezar, was incredibly attentive and more than accommodating to our needs. I was very impressed with the scope of the menu, ranging from traditional Turkish dishes, hot and cold Mezes to freshly grilled entrees and plenty of vegan options to choose from. I was recommended to have the Imam Bayildi an Aubergine dish which was stuffed with onion and pepper, then topped with the most amazing sweet tomato and garlic sauce. This paired beautifully with the rice and a side of lightly seasoned potato wedges – all this with a stunning cosmopolitan cocktail… what more could you want?
Well, incase you hadn’t heard enough every Saturday Hattush hosts live music and turns into quite the local venue, with a belly dancer taking centre stage, you better bring your dancing shoes as your’e in for tantalising night on the tiles of the Med.
If your’e looking for the perfect family friendly, fun, vibrant and romantic setting you’ve just hit the jackpot. As a local I have seen many a busy night in this restaurant and it deserves every minute of it. If your’e in the area I would definitely recommend a visit, with local parking made easy and great transport links, you really don’t have a reason not to.
